Special Event at Sparrows Point

On November 24, 2014 Sparrows Point Terminal hosted a special ceremony honoring the legacy of Sparrows Point and its workers in advance of the demolition of the L Blast Furnace.

UMBC's Mill Stories project assisted in assembling the ceremony, which included remarks from project participants Donald Kellner, Addie Loretta Houston-Smith, Mike Lewis and Troy Pritt. Senator Barbara Mikulski, Senator Benjamin Cardin, Congressman Dutch Ruppersberger, State Comptroller Peter Franchot and Sparrows Point Terminal CEO Michael Pedone also spoke during the ceremony.
